QSL Bureau Address:

VE/VA6 Incoming QSL Bureau

C/O R. Roadhouse

372 Cedarpark Dr. SW

Calgary, AB

T2W 2J4

Please keep in mind that YOUR QSL bureau operates on a "pull" basis. That is, it's your responsibility to" pull" your cards by providing the bureau with mailing funds. We will not hunt you down and "push" the cards on you.

Cards unclaimed after 12 months WILL be returned to the sender.

We will not destroy cards as it's only fair that the senders find out what happened to the cards they sent to the VE/VA6 bureau.

  BUREAU NEWS

October 1, 2008:  All cards for which we have funds and good addresses have been mailed. We still have a lot of cards for which we have no funds to use to send. These will be sent back after we've held them for about 2 years.

September 15, 2008:  Cards are here (about 5,000) and being processed. You should see them in the next few weeks.

September 3, 2008:  We've been advised that the national incoming bureau will be shipping us 4,000 cards this week. We have about 1,000 we have received directly as well. We expect cards should be in the mail to you in early October.

August 14, 2008:  PayPal service charge has been reduced to 30cents per transaction from 55 cents. The cost for a PayPal transaction is now 2.9% plus 30 cents.

June 18, 2008:  LoTW (Log Book of The World). This is not directly a QSL bureau subject but it is QSL related. You may want to use this free service to confirm your contacts. Many DXers and contesters use LoTW and more are signing up and adding their logs to the system all the time. It's not as complex as it first appears. Please feel free to contact VE6LB or VE6AX if you need help. The information on LoTW can be found at: LoTW.

May 13, 2008:  The bureau has cleared all cards for clients that we have funds on file for and there was addresses for in the Industry Canada database http://www.callsign.ca/index_en.php . We still get some cards back as "unknown" or "moved" since the IC database has not been updated by you. We have also returned to the sender all cards for which we could not find a listed address. Rich, VE6AX, did name and Google searches to see if he could find a home for these cards before returning them. In some cases he found a call change but in most cases, we did not have funds on file anyway. Those cards are being held until he does a major "return to sender" clearing. Please remember that the bureau only holds unclaimed card for one year. So far we've held them longer but they are starting to pile up.

The  DO YOU HAVE CARDS  page has been updated as well.

We would expect the next shipment from the national incoming bureau in the fall.

April 7, 2008:  Your bureau has received a large shipment of cards. We have started to process these cards and expect to ship cards to you, our clients, over the next 4 weeks. We continue to receive significant volumes of cards for folks that do not have postage funds on file. We hate to send these back to the sender but have little choice after storing them for a year or more. Please check: YOU HAVE CARDS  If you have cards and want them, please send funds (or use PayPal). If you see cards for someone you know, please let them know.

December 14, 2007: The bureau has been cleared and all card sent to those clients who had sufficient funds.

November 14, 2007: You can now send us funds by PayPal www.paypal.com (send Money) to telwest@telusplanet.net (2.9% plus 55 cent PayPal service charge).

November 14, 2007: We have received a significant shipment of cards from the national incoming bureau and will be sorting and mailing these over the next few weeks. This will also be a "year end clearing" and we will send even one card if you have funds.

October 23, 2007: The latest is that the National Incoming folks will ship us cards in the next week or so. Our current forecast is you should see cards by the end of November.

October 1, 2007: We have been advised by the national incoming bureau that volumes of cards have been quite low and we should now expect a shipment sometime in October. As soon as we get them, work will start to get them to you.

July 25, 2007: The bureau clearing was completed as of early June. We are not expecting another clearing until the September time frame.

May 17, 2007: The clearing of the significant number of cards that we can’t deliver is under way Our notice brought results and many cards found their home. We are currently returning cards to the sender for calls that are no longer in the Industry Canada database and we don’t know who they once belonged to. These are cards that have been sitting in the Bureau for over one year. We also have cards for legitimate calls, but the amateur does not have funds in their account or their address in the Industry Canada database is wrong (mailed once and returned) so we can not mail them out. We will keep these for approximately one more year before we return them to the sender. Check our "DO YOU HAVE CARDS” page to see if there are any cards for you – or any for someone you know. The clearing process is continuing. Please pass the word on to anyone you think may be affected that time for claiming these cards is running out

May 11, 2007: Rich, VE6AX, advises that he has received about 4,000 card from the national incoming bureau (and some direct). Once sorted and distributed to the letter managers, they should be appearing in mail boxes by the end on the month.

January 1, 2007: Your bureau has completed it's "year end clearance". All cards for clients (even one) that had sufficient funds and good IC addresses have been mailed. We would expect more cards in the March/April timeframe.

December 6, 2006: Your bureau has receive about 6,500 cards recently. Sorting is in progress and cards should be in in the mail towards the end of the month.

September 13, 2006: All bureau cards have been sent to clients that had sufficient fund with the bureau. We still have about 600 calls with cards on file with no funds or bad addresses. At the end of this year we intend to clear these undeliverable cards back to the senders.

August 19, 2006: Cards have been received and now being sent out.

July 24, 2006: The national incoming bureau has advised they have shipped us a new batch of card. We would expect to send cards to clients with funds in August.

June 22, 2006: The WEB page for "cards with no homes" has been updated. We have removed most cards from our files where the calls don't have IC addresses. We will hold these cards until the end of 2007 and then return them to the sender if we haven't found a delivery route for them.

May 29, 2006: All cards from the recent clearing have been mailed. The "have you got cards?" WEB page will be updated shortly.

May 3, 2006: Your bureau has received about 7,000 card from the national incoming folks. Sorting in underway and distribution should start in the next few weeks.

April 9, 2006: The latest from the National incoming bureau is that we should receive cards here in early May. They tell us that the volume of incoming cards has been low.

March 11, 2006: Your bureau is expecting a shipment from the national incoming bureau in early April. We will be sorting and sending cards to you shortly afterwards. The bureau currently has very few cards for those who have funds and good addresses.

February 12, 2006: We have spent considerable time cleaning up the data base. We have pulled all cards for which we can't find a current IC address. We are sure many of these card belong to hams with new calls but we have no way of cross referencing these calls. If you've changed your call, please let us know your old and new call so we can update our DataBase. The cards with no/low funds and no/wrong address page has been updated.

January 22, 2006: Your bureau has sent out all the cards we can (valid IC addresses and having funds).

January 13, 2006: Your incoming bureau received about 3,500 cards this week. These are being process and should be in the mail shortly. Once the mailing is complete the "do you have cards" page will be updated.

December 6, 2005: A "shotgun" email has been sent to all clients that don't have sufficient funds or have had mail returned using "their call"@rac.ca.

November 28, 2005: All cards for which we had funds on file have been mailed. The "Do You Have Cards" page has been updated.

November 13, 2005: After a successful distribution of many cards at the Calgary Flea Market, your QSL bureau is now in the process of clearing all cards, regardless of the volume, where our clients have funds. In the future, we will stick to our 5 card minimum shipment (unless told otherwise). We expect the next major clearing will be early in 2006.

August 11, 2005: All backlog cards should be in the mail in the next few days. We will start to work on cards returned by Canada Post for bad addresses from the Summer 2004 clearing funded by CARA to see if we can find homes for these cards. There are a lot! Please update your address with Industry Canada-that's our only source of mailing information. Address change link.

The next major bureau clearing is expected in the October time frame.

July 30, 2005: All bureau cards and assets where transferred to Calgary. First letter sorting has been completed on about 75 lbs. of cards and distributed to the letter managers. Cards are being processed now and you should see cards in your mail shortly. The objective is to clear the backlog so you may see multiple mailings and lack of co-ordinate mailings of multiple calls batches. We will try to batch more efficiently in the future. We are seeing a lot of cards with no funds. See the side bar.
