We began collecting in 1990 but did not become serious until 1992. Since then we have been out of control. As of January 2007, our collection stands at 180+.
The English Northern Collection is our major emphasis, but other areas are covered as well. We also try to find as many old and retired pieces as we can. We have also found special piece at collectible shows. We often buy any that are on special (sometimes as much as 50% off). We have also added a few older cottages now that we have discovered eBay!!
In the summer of 1997, we found Out of the Storm, the Limited Edition for 1997. Since it was our 25th anniversary, we decided to take the plunge.
In October, 1998, we toured the Lilliput Lane facility in Penrith, England to see how the cottages are made. While there, we fell in love with Coniston Crag and it was added to our collection in January, 1999. In 2006, we again toured the facility and picked up a few more
Since there are several areas that we try to collect, it was disappointing to see the different English regions combined into one.
