SETTING UP WINDOWS VISTA
FOR CQ100


First lets be able to access the sound card in an easy manner


1  Lets put a speaker icon on the start menu

 A--  Open control panel and right click on the speaker icon
Click on CREATE SHORT CUT
 Now go to your desktop and drag the speaker icon to
the Windows start button  (lower left corner of the screen )

Now you will have an easy access to the sound controls at all times.

2  Now we will set the sound card up for use on CQ 100 as the controls
are not accessible from the CQ100 ( click on ? mark proceedure ).

A ---  Click on speaker tab in the start menu. This will open the sound
card settings windows.





               
B ----  With the sound card window open  put the mouse over the speaker
and double
  click.  The following window will open.




C --- On new window select the LEVELS tab to open the speaker controls.





D --- on this window set your speaker output level and on the
mike control the mike must be muted.
Just click on the speaker picture and a red circle will appear.
If it is not muted you will get feedback in the audio system.
Click ok and your done.

This completes the speaker output levels so now on to the mike
input control.
                
Now we will set the audio levels for the microphone

A --- On the first screen select RECORDING and the following screen
will open.




A ----Put mouse over the mike picture and double click.
This will open up a new screen as below.




B ---  On this screen click on levels to set the mike drive.







C --- Now you can adjust the mike input level and boost level if needed.
the boost level has three settings  10 - 20 - 30 Db.

This completes the sound card set up but do go back to the CQ 100
sound setup at the question mark and make sure your sound card
is selected in both of the sound control boxes.

Hope this helps with setting up vista sound cards
My laptop has a Realtec sound card so hope it works on yours.



What no STEREO MIX ?????



You may have it and it is not shown on the setup screens.

1 --- Go to the start menu and open the sound card.
                  
2 --- Click on the RECORDING TAB to open new screen.



3 ---  Right click on microphone for new control screen

4 --- Click on  SHOW DISABLED DEVICES.

5 --- Click   OK 

6 ---
Then reopen the sound card control & you will see
Stereo Mix




 7 ---  Now you must ENABLE OR DISABLE what ever
 you want to use. To change from the mike to stereo mix

 RIGHT CLICK on the mike and select DISABLE.
 Then  RIGHT CLICK on the Stereo Mix and on the new
 screen select  ENABLE.


FINAL CHECK


You must now check your digital software and CQ100

Check your software to make sure the right sound card is showing



On CQ100 check that your sound card shows up
on AUDIO OUTPUT     AND      AUDIO INPUT
