"HANCOCKS HALF HOUR"

The following sketches were done by Reg Hancock

My good pommy friend.

Russ's first ten rainbows taken out of Cal's pond. They are all around 3 pounds. Speaks well for the amount of food in the pond.

Two were Reg's, he left them from last year. They had his name on them.

Below are some photographs of the various places that are fly-fished by members of our group. Left to right shows: Skitchine Lodge on Dagger Lake, Cal's Pond with Autumn colors. Cal with a 3 pounder from Dagger Lake. Reflections from Skoatl Point (An extinct volcano cone) into Dagger Lake.

FLY FISHING AND ICE FISHING.

Sunset on Hihium Lake British Columbia. Hihium Lake is situated Northwest of Kamloops at an altitude of about 5000 ft. Rainbow trout are stocked regularly. Fly fishing is most popular and barbless hooks are mandatory. I am lucky to be one of a small group of friends that flyfish this lake annually.

This is a photograph taken inside the cabin at Hihium Lake. Left to right:

Larry, Doug, John, Gordie, and Russ. As you can see we really have to rough it !

This fellow and his friends happen to be the best fishermen on Hihium Lake.He and his friends are becoming lazy as they now wait until a fisherman catches a fish, then dive and steal the fish off the hook.No wonder they are fat!
With Gull Lake in the background, Cal is showing his expertise deboning Lake Whitefish on the fish cleaning station, provided at the lake.
It's stopped snowing!

The photograph on left is of Dave and Cal holding up a couple of nice rainbows taken out of Cal's pond. The fish certainly grew fast, they were ten inch fish when planted and grew at a tremendous pace. Some topped 5 6 + pounds. It is amazing how scuds can make them grow in just a few months??

The photograph on the right is of some of these rainbow trout laid on the table prior to smoking..
