The Village of Heisler is named after pioneer settler, Martin Heisler Sr., who provided the land which the village sits on. There are still a number of his descendants living in the area. The spirit of these early settlers still survives in the people who live, work, and play in our dynamic Village. The people of Heisler take responsibility for being community members and are involved in aspects of our growth and development. Heisler is called the Premier Village because our streets are named for the people who served as Premier of Alberta. Farming is the main resource in the area with oil and gas wells becoming more common a the time. Heisler provides a safe environment for young and old alike. It is a mature community where actions speak louder than words and things get done. The people of Heisler value the assets they have. More than just streets and buildings, there is family tradition, respect, fresh air, open spaces and the opportunity to be included as a member of this community. The social activities bring people from far and wide to enjoy the hospitality of the place we call home.
