Crowfoot Ferry Grain hauling in the 1920's was a difficult procedure as the farmers needed to cross the Bow River. By the fall of 1923 a current driven ferry was set up north-east of Milo to eliminated this problem. This system was soon replaced with a motorized ferry. Every 10 years the ferries are replaced and the Crowfoot Ferry is only I of 7 ferries left in the province today. The Crowfoot Ferry runs every year from May to October or November, depending on the ice on the river. The Ferry has a very scenic view with the high river banks of the Bow River surrounding it. When you are touring the Village of Milo and want to go to Drumheller or the Calgary area, the Ferry makes the drive fun and the mileage a little shorter.
