Please note the small hole in the bottom of the unpainted carving. It was put there by a drywall screw that was epoxyed in the end of a piece of 1/2 inch dowel. I cut off the screw head first, drilled a hole in one end of the dowell, a little larger than the dull end of the screw and glued it in. Some carvers call this a paint stick, but it also a safety stick, it is easier and safer to carve an egghead utilizing this simple tool to help hold the egg while carving.
