THE VERY BEST WALK AND WADE FLY FISHING IN ALBERTA |
For years, Streamside Adventures has provided memorable guided fishing trips for first time visitors to Alberta. Whether fishing for a day, or on an extended camp out, you can count on our knowledge and expertise on the rivers that we guide on. Remember that underneath it all, we are basically fisherman, and we approach the rivers as such. The Trip Our walk and wade day trips provide the client with a minimum of 6 hours on stream. The walking is done mostly along marked trails through forested valleys and by wading across the rivers themselves. The approaches to these rivers are a short walk (10 - 15 minutes) from an all-weather road or better. The daily rate also includes shuttling to and from the river, as well as a deli-style lunch and refreshments served on stream filling your hunger sparked by the fresh air. We also provide overnight camping trips to all the rivers that we guide on. These trips offer the best of both worlds; fishing all day, reliving the experiences around a friendly campfire at night, and finally heading back out on stream the next day. All camping equipment and meals are included in the camping charge (See Rates, below). Fishing Guides If this is your first trip to Alberta; hiring a guide is not mandatory; but will allow you to maximize your fishing time by utilizing your guides expertise and local knowledge. Guides can be hired by the day, and your friends can share in this experience, to a maximum of 2 anglers per guide. The Seasons The fishing season on the waters we guide on varies. Generally by the 16th of June, all of the waters are open to angling. Some of these waters however, are open year round. Tackle And License We can help make arrangements for equipment rental, if required. All anglers over 15 and under 65 are required by law to purchase a provincial fishing license. Our guides can aid you in the purchase of this license at one of the many vendors available. Rates
What To Bring We suggest a 4-6 weight rod with a floating line for dry fly fishing, and a 6-8 weight rod with a sinking line for nymph and streamer fishing. Although the majority of rivers can be fished in waist high waders, we recommend chest waders with felt soled boots. To ensure your comfort during the trip, we suggest a wide brimmed hat, polarized sunglasses, rain jacket, sweater, and of course, a camera. Accommodation Please see the Links page for accommodation. We can help make arrangements for accommodation, if requested. Booking A Trip Call, or E-mail us with a detailed description of the type of trip that you want and we will be happy to make some recommendations. We are completely flexible and can design a guided trip that suits your specific angling needs. |
