Carving, the process of destroying material in order to create, is a
far cry from painting and drawing. Soapstone carving is three
dimensional, takes some muscle, and you have little control over what
colours you might end up with.
Below: the bison (top left) and seal (third row right) are Judy's, the rest are Carolyn's (until Judy
gets her duck finished). These are all miniature
carvings, small enough to hold in the palm of your hand.
